THE CRAVEN COUNTRY JAMBOREE - THIS SUMMER’S HOTTEST TICKET IS SELLING FAST

As the snow finally disappears, thoughts quickly turn to the heat of summer and there is no better time to think about that hot summer weather than this month when early bird prices are still available for Craven Country Jamboree weekend passes.

“We are very pleased with the number of tickets sold to date,” said show producer, Brian Andrews. “Right now, we have sold as many tickets as we sold going into the show last year, so we are encouraging the fans to make sure they get their tickets before the hot summer weather arrives. The biggest outdoor festival in Saskatchewan will be unbelievable, so make sure you join us for the Craven Country Jamboree. Don’t get left standing at the gate.”

As the deadline for early bird tickets approaches and ticket sales continue to soar, the Craven Country Jamboree mangagement team is still hard at work making sure fans will be treated to even more top rate talent.

Filling the final spot on the main stage on Saturday afternoon will be red-hot Canadian, Johnny Reid. This Juno nominated and CCMA winning artist has an electric stage show that will bring the afternoon crowd to its feet. Closing out the festival in the beer gardens is the charismatic and captivating Texas crooner, Steve Holy. With hits like Brand New Girlfriend, Good Morning Beautiful, and his new single, Men Buy the Drinks, Holy is sure to end the festival with a bang.

“Though our tickets are selling very well already, we know that our fans demand the best from the lineup and we wanted to meet their expectations,” said Andrews. “We could have filled the remaining spots in the lineup with local acts that people can see at their local bar, or around the region, but we wanted to continue to bring in marquee talent that people just can’t see anywhere else.”

Ticket prices are set to increase at midnight on April 26, but they are currently available at the special price of $159 (plus GST).

Don’t get left standing at the gate, call the Craven Country Jamboree office toll-free at 1-866-388-0007, or in Regina at (306) 757-0007. They join other sponsors like Molsons, Viterra, Bayer Crop Science, Casino Regina, Sask Tel, SGI and many many more. For a full list of sponsors, please visit www.cravencountryjamboree.com

Site Information
As you know, reserved camping is sold out for 2008. Anyone with a reserved campsite, please remember that camping passes will be mailed out in May. You will receive a map, your camping pass, and some information about camping at the Craven Country Jamboree. Please take the time to read your package, as it provides some new and useful information about camping at the festival.

Gopher Run Changes
The Craven Country Jamboree remains one of the only outdoor music festivals in North America without reserved seating. We believe that everyone should have a chance to sit in the best seats in the house. The Gopher Run encourages fans to line-up for the best chance to see their favourite artists up close. However, due to the large number of suggestions from our fans, the Craven Country Jamboree has implemented some changes to the popular Gopher Run. Here they are:
·      The Gopher Run lineup begins every morning at 5 am.
·      For the safety of our guests, no one will be allowed to line up before 5 am. Security will be onsite to enforce this rule.
·      New for this year, the line-up will take place INSIDE the fenced main stage area. Gopher Run patrons will enter the lineup through the Gopher Hole, a gate in the fence past the east end of Main Street. This gate will take them to the enclosed lineup area.
·      Each person is allowed to bring in two (2) chairs. If one patron brings more than two chairs, he or she will be asked to leave the extra chairs behind.
·      Any chairs left unattended in the line-up WILL be removed.
·      Patrons who are disrespectful to other patrons, the security guards, or to Craven Country Jamboree staff will be asked to leave the line-up.
·      Gates will open each day at approximately 11 am.
·      Patrons will be escorted to the seating area to set up lawn chairs.
·      After placing lawn chairs, patrons will be escorted out of the main stage area until it officially opens at 12 noon.

Please note, the Craven Country Jamboree will enforce these rules to protect our patrons’ safety and to ensure the process is fair to all patrons wanting to participate in the Gopher Run. We ask that everyone respect these rules and the people who enforce them. Anyone who chooses to ignore these rules, or who does not respect the enforcement of these rules will be asked to leave the line.

Beer Garden Lineup
As a wonderful complement to the international talent found on the main stage, the beer garden is full of local and regional talent for all to enjoy. The beer garden lineup is still under construction, but will be posted to the web site in the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned for more information.

Two Jumbo Video Screens are coming to Craven
With thousands of people at an event, sometimes it is difficult for everyone to get a clear view of the artist on stage. In 2006, the Craven Country Jamboree, with the help of communications giant, SaskTel, added a (dimensions needed) video screen to help showcase the top level talent on our main stage. This year the festival will add a second big screen to help ensure each of our fans is able to feel like a part of the show.

Stay tuned to hear more about site improvements in the coming months.

Mountainfest is thrilled to announce to our valued patrons and friends...

ONE VERY SPECIAL NIGHT!
TWO VERY SPECIAL WOMEN!

THE JUDDS will headline at Mountainfest, Saturday, July 12th. The timing is right... The JUDDS will perform and you will enjoy those greatest hits...

THE WORLD'S GREATEST COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL CONTINUES TO FILL THE BILL

Today, organizers of the Craven Country Jamboree announced another set of acts to round out the deepest lineup to ever grace the main stage at the World's Greatest Country Music Festival, which will be held from July 10-13, 2008.

While the festival ends with a double shot of testosterone in Toby Keith and Dierks Bentley, Friday's headliner will add a feminine touch to the main stage. Sara Evans, voted one of People Magazine's '50 Most Beautiful People' will amaze fans with her special brand music. Having recently released a greatest hits package, this heir to songbirds like Loretta Lynn and Tammy Wynette has a deep musical catalogue that includes hits like Born to Fly, No Place to Start, and Suds in the Bucket.

Opening For Evans will be Canadian powerhouse, Paul Brandt, who moves from Saturday to Friday on the bill. No matter which night he plays, Brandt is always a crowd favourite.

Also added to the lineup in the second to close spot on Saturday is another female powerhouse, Miranda Lambert. This Nashville Star will bring a string of hits from her first album Kerosene, which debuted at number one on the country charts, and from her new album, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. This prolific songwriter will also ramp up the crowd energy on Saturday night with her electrifying stage show.

"We made a commitment to our fans in the first year of this festival, that we would attract the best talent that country music has to offer" said Brian Andrews, show producer. As you can see from the strength of this lineup with names like Toby, Dierks, and now Sara, Miranda and Paul, we continue to honour this commitment. We have two additional spots to fill to complete the lineup and we will make sure they have marquee value.

The Craven Country Jamboree attracts a sell out crowd from all over the globe with a good mixture of new and classic country music. Adding to the classic end of the spectrum are the Gatlin Brothers whose pure harmonies and more than a dozen top 40 hits over a career spanning four decades, will cause plenty of toes to tap during their set on Saturday afternoon.

On Sunday, Saskatchewan fans will be excited to welcome home the most nominated performer in any genre in Canada, Prince Albert native, Donny Parenteau.

Rounding out the lineup is a new-comer who might be familiar to some in the crowd. Saskatchewan native, Katie Hess, was the winner of the CKRM Talent Show in 2007. The talent of this young woman so impressed contest organizers and the Craven Country Jamboree, that she was offered a spot on the main stage.

"Although we work hard to put world class talent onto our main stage, we are also aware of our ability to give fresh new faces an opportunity to get their start" said Brian Andrews, show producer. "We have always supported new talent and will continue to do so this year with the Hewitt Sisters, Katie Hess and Jessie Farrell."

Other previously released acts include Pam Tillis, Mark Chesnutt, the Oak Ridge Boys, Neal McCoy, Sugarland, Dierks Bentley, and Toby Keith. Sawyer Brown will get the party started on Thursday night, hosting the Molson Canadian Rocks kick off party.

Ticket prices are set to increase on April 30, but they are currently available at the special price of $159 (plus GST). As well, only 5000 day tickets will be available, starting today, for a price of $80.

So, don't get left standing at the gate, call the Craven Country Jamboree office toll-free at 1-866-388-0007, or in Regina at (306) 757-0007. Tickets Tickets are also available at CBOs, through Ticketmaster, online at www.cravencountryjamboree.com and at participating SLGA liquor stores. CAA members can get a discount on tickets through a special online offer. Check caa.sk.ca for more information.

CAMPING
If you are still waiting to get your reserved quiet campsite, please don't wait too long. We have approximately 12 spots left and once those are gone, we are officially sold out of reserved camping. We will then pre-sell general camping, and of course it will be available at the gate.

For everyone with reserved campsites, just a reminder that camping passes will come out in early May. We will send out both the camping passes and a map with your numbered site marked.

Watch the web site for updates and new news. It will come fast and furious as the festival gets closer.

Craven Lineup announcement

THE WORLD'S GREATEST COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL TO BRING THE BIGGEST AND BEST TO SASKATCHEWAN IN '08 SELLOUT ANTICIPATED

Today, long-time festival hosts and generally funny guys, Williams and Ree, helped organizers of the Craven Country Jamboree to announce a lineup so deep and so talented that it will surely sell out the valley for a second straight year.

This year's festival will end with a Sunday night, one-two punch of testosterone. In one corner will be the festival's headliner, Toby Keith a cowboy's cowboy whose hard-working attitude and in your face style of music is second only to his staunch support of family and country. Making his only Canadian appearance, this multi-award winner will no doubt delight a sell-out Craven crowd of 23,500 with his impressive catalogue of hits, including 'Beer for My Horses', 'Whiskey Girl', and many others.

The left jab to Toby's right hook is Dierks Bentley, one of the hottest artists in country music today. Hitting the stage just before Toby, sporting golden good looks that will surely win over all the female hearts in the crowd, this devoted student of country music will appeal to all fans with his nod to the legendary honkey tonk sounds embraced by his idols, and the new country licks that have made him a star.

Rounding out this strong day is gold and platinum selling artist, Neal McCoy, protegy of country legend Charley Pride who will wow a sell-out crowd with his exciting, free-wheeling live show which includes his smash hit, 'Billy's Got His Beer Goggles On.'

"With a lineup this strong, we are anticipating a sell-out again this year," said Brian Andrews, show producer. "Our message for 2008 is 'don't get left standing at the gate,' and it's true. We put in the work to bring out the stars, including the only Canadian date for an artist like Toby Keith and we've backed him up with Dierks Bentley, who could easily headline a show on his own. That's a coup for Saskatchewan and we believe that our fans will answer by supporting us again in record numbers."

Sunday night will provide the festival with a killer finish, but Saturday's lineup is just as impressive with Sugarland, Paul Brandt and the Oak Ridge Boys.

Coming off a recent CMA (Country Music Association) award for Duo of the Year, this relatively new pair is on a roll, with their debut album, Twice the Speed of Light, certified Double Platinum. Commercial success brings critical acclaim, and Sugarland is receiving nominations for awards left, right and centre. But their focus is still their energetic live show. This crowd-pleasing spectacle, fueled by Jennifer Nettles' powerful vocals and supported by Kristian Bush's passionate guitar playing, will continue the tradition of a high-octane Saturday night in the Craven valley.

Brandt, a legendary Canadian crowd favourite, will add fuel to the fire on Saturday night, delivering his energetic hits just ahead of Sugarland. Warming up the crowd for him on the same night are the legendary Oak Ridge Boys whose catalogue of hits includes, 'Elvira,' 'Rocky Top', 'Leaving Louisiana in the Broad Daylight', 'Up on Cripple Creek', 'Bobby Sue', and many many more. Canadian crooner Jesse Farrell will start the party on Saturday, filling the valley with the sweet sound of her beautiful voice.

"Though this lineup is incredibly strong, we're not done yet," said Andrews. "We're working on two big acts to finish off Friday with a bang and a few other marquis acts. Stay tuned there's more to come."

Other acts helping to round out the weekend include descendent of country music royalty and CMA Female Vocalist of the year, Pam Tillis, Mark Chestnutt, the torchbearer of traditional country music, and newcomers from Nashville, the Hewitt Sisters. Just as exciting, international recording artist, Sawyer Brown, will be letting their hair down in the beer gardens, hosting the Molson Canadian Rocks kick off party, sure to be a massive show on Thursday night.

Putting on a show of this size takes the support of an entire province, and organizers would like to first thank the fans for their continuing support. As well, the Craven Country Jamboree would like to thank several returning sponsors, including Molson, Viterra, and Bayer Crop Science and Village Ford Lincoln in Moose Jaw for renewing their commitment to the festival for three more years.

Ticket prices are set to increase on December 8, but they are currently available at the special price of $129 (plus GST) by far the cheapest festival ticket in Canada. Only 4500 day tickets will be available, for a price of $80.

So, don't get left standing at the gate, call the Craven Country Jamboree office toll-free at 1-866-388-0007, or in Regina at (306) 757-0007. Tickets are also available at CBOs, through Ticketmaster, online at www.cravencountryjamboree.com and at participating SLGA liquor stores.
